Innovation helps improve efficiency and reduce patient queues
City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is leading the way after successfully deploying a patient flow management solution.
After working Intouch with Health, the trust has installed bespoke patient self check-in kiosks, which are interfaced with its fully-integrated MEDITECH Electronic Patient Record solution.
These are now live across the trust.
Andy Hart, director of information management and technology at the trust, said: “The self check-in devices have been extremely well received by patients and staff, and are allowing the trust to not only realise internal efficiencies, but to introduce a solution which works well for the patients themselves.”
Following the deployment, the trust has also reported that the system has helped to reduce the length of patient queues.
