Site offers sustainable recycled Portakabin buildings
Foremans Relocatable Building Systems, part of Portakabin, has launched a new website to meet the rising demand for second-hand modular buildings.
The new site has a number of key features, including:
Commenting on the new website, Mike Williams, managing director of Foremans, said: “Many building specifiers and users are just not aware of the quality of pre-owned Portakabin buildings – and of the scale, flexibility and speed of delivery of the approach – for interim as well as permanent use.
“Our aim with the new site is to showcase the best applications of our buildings from across the UK to provide visitors with a really useful source of information to help the procurement process – from the specification of layouts, colours and finishes, to finance options, and the full range of planning, design and refurbishment services that we can provide.”
The use of recycled Portakabin buildings is an environmentally-sound alternative to demolishing and disposing of traditionally-built buildings in landfill sites. The modules can be upgraded and reconfigured by Foremans to clients’ specific requirements for either permanent or interim accommodation. This minimises waste and energy consumption, and allows other organisations to benefit from the advantages of off-site construction.
The buildings can be hired or purchased in single and multi-storey configurations and can be designed and refurbished for a wide variety of uses including offices, teaching blocks, and hospital ward accommodation.
Foremans will also purchase quality steel-framed modular buildings which have become surplus to requirements and will undertake the safe dismantling and removal operations with minimum disruption.
