Patient feedback boost for Lincs Pilgrim Hospital

Staff at Pilgrim Hospital in Lincolnshire will be able to access real-time feedback from patients with the installation of a new IT system. The hospital has installed two Jayex QI interactive survey and patient information management kiosks in the ear, nose and throat (ENT) department and the sleep apnoea unit for use by patients awaiting discharge. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust aims to use the patient feedback to improve service delivery, review patient waiting times and plan for service redesign where necessary. Lead ENT clinician, Dr Michael Oko, said: "Over the next few years we will be required to deliver efficiency savings while simultaneously improving the services we deliver. This system will provide our patients with a simple and quick way to give their feedback and delivers clear statistical information to managers and clinicians on their performance, the service the patients received and the surrounding environment." Questions asked will specific queries about individual consultants' politeness, friendliness and explanations and the cleanliness and environment of the hospital.
